So glad you’ve arrived. I’m Reneiss (Reh-ness), also known as OneOfAFind—an artist deeply in love with language expression, creative writing, and the way the body tells stories beyond speech. Whether through poetry, yoga, or modeling, I am always exploring new ways to receive others and express myself. My creative world is vast, but at its core, everything I do is held together by a single thread—communication. With God, with myself, and with the people around me.
Background & Experience: Writing has been my refuge since childhood—a space where I first learned to make sense of the world. In 12th grade, I entered my poetry into a publishing contest and, at 18, saw my first work in print. This passion led me to pursue two degrees in English: a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Houston and a M.A. in English from Arizona State University. Along the way, I also earned an Associate’s degree in American Sign Language, a language I cherish for its depth of expression and accessibility. Though I am not an interpreter, I hope to expand spaces for more inclusive communication.
Currently, I dedicate my expertise to promoting literacy nationwide, helping children strengthen their speaking, reading, and writing skills. Over the past six years, I’ve guided students internationally of all ages—across cultures, locations, and social backgrounds—in their journeys with the acquisition of the English language.
Artistic & Creative Work: I have always been intentional with my art. Though publishing a book has been within reach, I never wanted to create without purpose—without movement. I resisted the pressure to produce without engagement, waiting until my work could actively mobilize those who experienced it.
In 2021, this vision took shape in a tangible way. I began crafting bookmarks & notebooksinfused with my poetry—a project that not only allowed me to share my art but also encouraged others to engage in reading, writing, and reflection. Through this, my work became more than an artistic offering; it became a catalyst for cultivating a restorative, mindful praxis of reading and writing among my community of supporters.
Presently, this commitment to intentional story keeping has expanded into my Poetry Veneration Project: An Ode to Our Grandmothers. This work is a living archive of matriarchal wisdom, honoring the lives and legacies of grandmothers through poetry and digital collage. Over the past six months, I have been gifted the stories of over 60 grandmothers and women elders. Through guided conversations with families, I weave together poetic odes and visual storytelling, offering a sacred space for intergenerational reflection and veneration. This project, like all my work, is an invitation—to listen, to remember, and to carry these stories forward.
I create not just to be heard, but to invite others into the process—to reflect, to honor, and to speak their own truths.
